Using Outlook for iOS for personal email and calendar management
Hi Kelvin Chong, I can understand how frustrating it must be to change your password and then find that you can only log in on your computer but not on your iPhone especially when you’ve already tried removing and re‑adding the account and still get locked out.
To fix the Outlook password login issue on your iPhone purge iOS Keychain entries by going to Settings and selecting Passwords opening App & Website Passwords then searching for your Outlook or Microsoft account and deleting all stored credentials so the phone won’t reuse stale tokens reset Outlook app data completely by deleting the app. rebooting the device reinstalling Outlook from the App Store and adding the account using Sign in with Microsoft through the OAuth flow instead of manual password entry force device re registration if you’re in Microsoft 365 with conditional access by removing the account under Settings then Accounts and Work & School then re adding it so Intune or MDM policies re register the device clear Safari login cache by going to Settings then Safari and Clear History and Website Data then logging in via outlook.office.com to force a fresh handshake check the account lockout state by visiting https://account.live.com or your organization’s password reset portal and resetting the password once more to clear the too many attempts flag and finally test the authentication flow by logging in via Safari first if Safari works but the Outlook app fails it’s an app cache issue and if Safari fails too the problem is account lockout or conditional access policy.
When you try signing in on your iPhone after the password change does the login screen actually redirect you to the Microsoft OAuth page for authentication or does it stay on a simple username/password prompt because that difference will reveal whether the device is stuck using cached credentials or if it’s properly requesting a fresh token from Microsoft’s servers?
