I cannot register my email into my authenticator app. When i add my email and password, it asks for a code from the app, which has not yet been set up.

It seems that you are encountering an issue with the Microsoft Authenticator app where it is asking for a code that you cannot generate because the app has not been set up yet. This situation often arises when the registration process is incomplete or there are issues with the authentication flow.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Ensure Proper Setup: Make sure that you have followed the correct steps to set up the Authenticator app. If you haven't done so, download the app and add your account by following the prompts.
    2. Check for Existing Registrations: If you have previously registered the email with another authenticator or device, you may need to remove those registrations first. You can do this through the Security info page.
    3. Retry Registration: If you encounter errors during registration, try deleting any locally stored passkeys in the Authenticator app and then attempt to register again. This can help clear up any conflicts.
    4. Multifactor Authentication (MFA): Ensure that you complete any required MFA steps during the setup process. This may include verifying your identity through another method.
    5. Check Conditional Access Policies: If your organization has implemented Conditional Access policies, ensure that you meet all the requirements to register the authenticator app.

If the issue persists, consider reaching out to your IT support or checking the Microsoft documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
