Hello!

I have a problem removing an extra input language in Windows 11.

When I go to Settings -> Time & Language -> Language & region

I have only two languages available under Language section:

English (United States)

Russian

However in the Task Bar in the language section I have a choice of three languages:

English (United States)

Russian

English (United Kingdom)

I would like to remove the English (United Kingdom) variety, as it just makes switching between the languages inconvenient, however I can not do that.

Also the Windows display language drop-list features three languages:

English (United States)

Russian

English (United Kingdom)

I would like to remove English (United Kingdom) from this list too if that is possible.

    Open the old Control Panel

At the top of Control Panel, set View to Icons

    Select Region

Select the Administrative Tab on the resulting dialog

Click Change System Locale in the 'Language for non-Unicode Programs' section

Set the language in the drop down to the same as the System location/Language

    .

Open the Settings App, then go to Time & language - Language & region

Scroll down to the Additional Settings section.

There are two 'Copy current... ' sections in there, click the Copy button in each section.

Restart (not shut down) the PC to apply the changes.

To remove the extra input language (English (United Kingdom)) from your Windows 11 settings, you can follow these steps:

    1. Remove the Language: Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & region. Under the Language section, if you see English (United Kingdom) listed, click on it and select Remove. If it does not allow you to remove it directly, you may need to check if it is set as a preferred language.
    2. Check Preferred Languages: In the same Language & region settings, ensure that English (United States) is set as your preferred language. You can move it to the top of the list if necessary.
    3. Remove from Taskbar: If English (United Kingdom) still appears in the taskbar, right-click on the language icon in the taskbar, select Language preferences, and check if you can remove it from there.
    4. Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, changes may not take effect until you restart your computer.
    5. Check for Additional Settings: If the above steps do not work, you may need to check the Advanced keyboard settings in Settings > Time & Language > Typing > Advanced keyboard settings to ensure that only your desired languages are listed.

If you continue to experience issues, consider checking for any updates or using the Windows PowerShell to manage language settings more effectively.
