At the top right of Word, log out of Office.

Restart your PC, then log back into office, is your licence/subscription then recognised correctly?

    2

If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, do you find your Office licence or subscription listed there and if that is a subscription, is the expiry date indicated correctly?

If you are encountering an "unlicensed product" error when trying to open Microsoft Office 365, it typically indicates that the software is unable to verify your license. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Check Your License: Ensure that you have a valid Microsoft 365 subscription. If your license is provided through work or school, contact your administrator to confirm that you have an active license assigned.
    2. Remove Office Credentials:
      • Open Credential Manager from the Start menu.
      • Go to Windows credentials and look for any credentials related to MicrosoftOffice16. Remove them if found.
      • Disconnect any accounts listed under Access work or school in the Settings app, if they do not match the account you use for Office.
      • Restart your device and try activating Office again.
    3. Edit the Registry:
      • Open Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Start menu.
      • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity and delete the Identities folder.
      • Restart your device and attempt to activate Microsoft 365 again.
      • If the issue persists, create a new DWORD value named NoDomainUser and set its value to 1.
    4. Reinstall Microsoft 365: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft 365 to ensure you have the correct version installed.

These troubleshooting steps should help you address the "unlicensed product" error and regain access to Microsoft Office 365.
