    Hi,

I understand that you are receiving the message “This method is not working right now. Please try a different verification method.” when trying to log in. This message usually appears due to unusual activity, a high volume of requests, or similar issues.

If your phone number is listed as one of your verification methods but you fail to receive the code, it may indicate that your account is blocked.

First, I suggest that you reset your password and try again: https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx

If the issue persists, make sure you’re using a device and location you’ve previously used to sign in. Try using a different verification method, such as an alternate email instead of SMS (or vice versa). You can also switch networks by using Wi-Fi or mobile data. Avoid making repeated attempts. In some cases, waiting 24 hours may help resolve the issue. For further assistance, use the sign-in helper tool to identify the problem and explore available support options.

If your Hotmail account is blocked and you are unable to receive the verification code via your listed phone number, it may be due to several reasons. Microsoft may limit or block authentication attempts if there have been too many failed attempts or if the account is flagged for security reasons. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Check Phone Number: Ensure that the phone number listed in your account settings is correct and that you have access to it.
    2. Alternative Verification Methods: If the phone verification is not working, try selecting other verification options if available. This may include using an authenticator app or answering security questions if you remember them.
    3. Account Recovery: If you cannot remember the details from your account opening, you may need to go through the account recovery process. This typically involves providing information that can verify your identity.
    4. Contact Support: If you are still unable to access your account, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance. They may be able to help you recover your account or provide additional options for verification.

It's important to act quickly, as accounts can sometimes be permanently inaccessible if they remain blocked for an extended period.
