I see. Yes, that error usually means your account doesn’t have an Exchange Online license assigned, so Outlook can’t create a mailbox for you. If you only have apps like Teams or OneDrive, Outlook won’t work until the right license is added.

Hi Ethan,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you are having issues getting in to outlook. This error means your account either doesn't have an active mailbox, or you don't have the right Exchange Online license. Outlook Web App (OWA) needs one of those to work.

Here's what to try:

Check your license: Log in to your Microsoft 365 account and be sure you have a license for Exchange Online or a Microsoft 365 plan that has email included.

Give it time: If you just got the license, it may take a couple of hours for your mailbox to be set up.

Ask your admin: If it's a work or school account, your Microsoft 365 admin can assign the right license and check if the mailbox is there in Exchange Online.

Use another app: If your license is only for Teams or OneDrive, Outlook won't work until Exchange Online is added.

Let me know what happens.

Regards,

Rez
