i have got a modern browser called epic to run and watched youtube in it, some features like cortana and some apps wont run because they are too old to run, you can sideload the os, I am currently typing this on the build, it works just fine, just remember, security is old and viruses could appear if a wrong move is made, if using, i strongly recommend epic privacy browser, it runs well as long as you dont pressure it and make the build angry, it gets angry easily, but some modern games/apps wont run because of the microsoft visual c++ code, speaking of that, you can run c++ on it, i also ran the web version of discord on it and it ran fine, but it cant call, i think it has to do with cromes security or my network, so yes, its usable Moved from Windows Insider

Windows 10 build 10074, like other versions of Windows 10, will still be usable after its end of support date on October 14, 2025. However, it is important to note that it will no longer receive security updates, new features, or technical support from Microsoft. This means that while the operating system can still function, using it may expose users to security vulnerabilities and risks, particularly if they are running outdated software or browsers.

For the best and most secure computing experience, Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11 or transitioning to a new Windows 11 PC. If users choose to continue using Windows 10 after support ends, they might consider enrolling in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, which provides critical and important security updates for a fee.

While some applications and features may still work on older builds, users should be cautious about security and compatibility issues, especially with modern applications and games that may require updated components like Microsoft Visual C++.

yes true, like i stated, it can still run, but if using as a daily driver, use epic privacy browser to have no viruses or lower the chance, it can also run discord on the web.

    Dear Gabriel Puckett,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Windows 10 build 10074 in Q&A Forum!  It’s interesting to hear how you’ve managed to keep it running and even use modern tools like Epic Privacy Browser and Discord web. As you mentioned, older builds like this can have limitations with certain apps and features, and security risks are something to keep in mind since these versions no longer receive updates.

If at some point you’d like to explore supported options for better security and compatibility, here are a few paths you can look into:

    • Windows 11: The latest version with ongoing updates and modern features (if your device meets requirements).
    • Extended Security Updates (ESU) for Windows 10: This program can help reduce risks if you need to stay on Windows 10 for a while.

You can find more details and free guidance on these options on Microsoft’s official page. These resources are designed to help you decide what works best for your needs, there’s no cost to access the information.

Thanks again for sharing your insights with the community! It’s great to see users like you contributing valuable experiences that help others learn and make informed decisions.
