Database server down, cannot connect to it from Query Editor (or from anywhere else)

Azure database server is down and I cannot connect to it from anywhere - neither from Query Editor, not from local SSMS nor from App Service.

I checked login creds, they are correct, Security->Networking is set up correctly (Public network access: Selected networks, Allow Azure services and resources to access this server: True).

Server doesn't return on ping. I think it is missing DNS records.

nslookup from Kudu (Bash) returns NXDOMAIN.

Please see attached pictures as well.

This is a personal project so I don't have budget for Azure support.

    Hi Adis Mackovic,

Thank you for your responses over private messages and for sharing the requested details.

I noticed that the server was deleted from your side. Earlier, I had requested you to create the server in a different region, and you later confirmed that you were able to connect successfully.

Just to clarify, the issue in the East US region is due to a capacity limitation, and additionally your current subscription has restrictions since it does not include paid support.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions, we’re here to assist.

Kindly consider upvoting and accepting the answer so that it will help others who are facing similar challenges.

    Thanks!

    Kalyani

You need to explicitly allow inbound traffic from the IP address from which the connection originates - i.e. IP address associated with your home computer (just type in "what's my IP" in any search engine in your web browser) and the outbound IP address of the App Service resource.
