Feedback to ms regarding setup

Sorry I post here because the admin blocked me from using the feedback hub. What I want to point out is that many of us have been using computers since many decades ago when the personal computer existed. As a middle aged professional, I hope that Microsoft can improve the UI in existing and future products. My eye sight has deteriorated, can you increase the size of the fonts used in the setup installation progress etc? There is still a lot of room on the display screen to allow this to happen without compromising anything. What I hate the most is reading a serial number of a computer when manufacturers seem to lean towards designer decision but not engineer's perspective. All the designers seem to lean towards tiny fonts to make things looks slicker but it is a nightmare supporting these products from the technical point of view, especially when we need to guess whether a character is zero or O, L or 1, etc.

Hi Lenny,

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. I can assure you it’s genuinely appreciated, especially coming from someone with many years of hands-on experience. You bring up an important point: as devices and displays evolve, readability and accessibility must evolve with them, and we recognize that font clarity during setup, installation, and system identification (such as serial numbers) can make a significant difference for users and IT professionals alike. While some parts of the installation UI are fixed today, your feedback aligns with ongoing accessibility initiatives inside Microsoft, and I will make sure it is formally forwarded to the product team for review.

In the meantime, features like Windows Magnifier, Text Size scaling, and High Contrast modes can help once the OS is installed, but I understand your concern about readability before these tools are available, especially during setup or when reading hardware identifiers. Your comments about ambiguous characters (0 vs O, 1 vs l, etc.) are also very valid, and this is an area we continue to evaluate for standardization across vendors and the ecosystem.

Constructive feedback like yours helps Microsoft shape more accessible and user-centered experiences. Thanks again and have a nice day!

Jason.
