Hello all,

In my organization, there is a requirement to build a fresh / new SCCM Architecture in new domain.

Request you if anyone can provide their inputs which Hardware / Software selection should I use for my new SCCM Infrastructure.

Which Windows Server OS is Preferrable?
Which SCCM Version is preferrable?

Which SQL Version is preferrable?

Any other things to address?

Thanks in advance!

To build a new System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) architecture, consider the following recommendations based on the prerequisites and supported configurations:

    Hardware/Software Selection

    1. Windows Server OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 is required for SCCM installations. Ensure that you have the necessary server roles and features installed, as outlined in the prerequisites.
    2. SCCM Version: System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager is a recommended version for new installations. This version supports various features and is compatible with the required software components.
    3. SQL Version: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 is the preferred version for SCCM. Ensure that you also have the necessary service packs and cumulative updates installed, such as SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Cumulative Update 6 (CU6).

    Additional Considerations

    • Networking Services: Ensure that networking services like Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) are properly configured.
    • Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS): This is essential for SCCM to function correctly.
    • System Resources: Make sure that the hardware meets the recommended system resources for the SCCM server, including adequate CPU, memory, and disk space.

By following these guidelines, you can set up a robust SCCM architecture that meets your organization's needs.
