Trackpad Click Not Working & Keyboard Pressing “/” Automatically on Windows 11

Hi,

I’m using Windows 11 and I am facing two serious issues:

I cannot click using my laptop’s trackpad.

Tapping and physical clicks don’t work

Cursor moves, but clicking does nothing

**The keyboard keeps pressing the “/” key automatically** even when I’m not touching it.

     This happens randomly

It interrupts typing and makes the system hard to use

I already tried:

Restarting the laptop

Updating drivers

Changing keyboard layout

Checking for stuck keys

Running Windows Defender scan

But the problem still continues.

Could this be a hardware issue, driver corruption, stuck key, or malware?
Please help me diagnose and fix this.

Thank you.

Based on the issues you're experiencing with your trackpad and keyboard on Windows 11, it could be related to several factors:

    1. Hardware Issues: Since both the trackpad and keyboard are malfunctioning, it might indicate a hardware problem. If possible, try connecting an external mouse and keyboard to see if they work correctly. If they do, the issue may be with your laptop's built-in hardware.
    2. Driver Issues: You mentioned that you've updated the drivers, but it may be worth checking for any additional updates or rolling back to a previous version if the issues started after a recent update. You can do this through Device Manager.
    3. Stuck Keys or Debris: Even though you checked for stuck keys, ensure that there’s no debris under the keys or trackpad that could be causing the keyboard to register inputs incorrectly.
    4. Malware: Although you ran a Windows Defender scan, consider running a more comprehensive malware scan using a different tool to rule out any malicious software that could be causing these issues.
    5. Windows Settings: Check your touchpad settings in Windows Settings under Devices > Touchpad. Ensure that the touchpad is enabled and that the settings are configured correctly.

If the problem persists after these checks, it may be beneficial to consult a professional technician to diagnose any potential hardware issues further.

Open Command Prompt, then paste in this command and press Enter:

    msdt.exe -id KeyboardDiagnostic

Run that Keyboard Troubleshooter to see if that can solve the problem.

If the problem is still not resolved:

Connect another external keyboard to your system, is the same problem occurring on that keyboard?
