I moved to a paid GitHub Pro subscription but with the new month Visual Studio is not acknowledging any capacity for using GitHub Copilot.

    Hi @Joe Andreshak

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear that your GitHub subscription isn’t active. Please try the steps below to resolve the issue:

    1. Confirm you’re signed in with the correct GitHub account  If you have multiple GitHub accounts signed in, try removing all of them and keep only the one with the active subscription. You can do this by following the next step.
    2. Remove stored credentials  Go to: Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials . Find and remove any credentials related to git:https://github.com. Once removed, Visual Studio will prompt you to sign in again, allowing you to authenticate with the correct account.

If you have any further questions, feel free to leave a comment. I’ll be happy to help.

If Visual Studio is not recognizing your GitHub Pro subscription for GitHub Copilot, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Active Account: Ensure that the GitHub account you are using in Visual Studio is the one associated with your GitHub Pro subscription. If you have multiple GitHub accounts, you may need to switch to the correct one.
    2. Refresh Credentials: Sometimes, credentials may need to be refreshed. You can do this by selecting "Refresh your credentials" from the Copilot badge in the upper-right corner of your Visual Studio environment.
    3. Subscription Status: Verify that your GitHub Pro subscription is active. You can check this by logging into your GitHub account and reviewing your subscription details.
    4. Reinstall GitHub Copilot: If the issue persists, consider reinstalling the GitHub Copilot extension in Visual Studio to ensure it is properly configured.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact GitHub support for further assistance regarding your subscription.
