Onenote data is empty

I lost my my old laptop. Now on the new there is no onenote data. Are there backups?

Could you please visit https://onenote.cloud.microsoft/en-us/ and sign in with your Microsoft account to see if you can access your OneNote notebooks online? 

1. Use the same account on the OneNote desktop app to sync notebooks.
2. Select File > Open.
3. Under Notebooks, choose the notebook you want to open.
