DirectX not downloading due to internal error

I am trying to play a game but it's telling me that XINPUT1_3.dll was not found. I've seen some YouTube videos that fix this problem by downloading the DirectX user runtime browser. I tried to do the same, but every single time it does not download, and it tells me that there has been an internal error. I have also downloaded the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool yet that has also not fixed my problem. This has never been an issue to me considering this is a new pc so I'm hitting a roadblock over here.

It seems like you're encountering issues with the DirectX runtime, specifically related to the missing XINPUT1_3.dll. This DLL is part of the DirectX SDK, and if you're having trouble downloading the DirectX user runtime, it could be due to various reasons, including network issues or problems with the installation process itself.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Manual Installation: Instead of relying on the DirectX user runtime browser, you can manually download the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from the official Microsoft website. This installer can help you get the necessary components.
    2. Check Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, missing updates can cause issues with DirectX installations.
    3. Run as Administrator: When attempting to install DirectX, right-click on the installer and select "Run as administrator" to ensure it has the necessary permissions.
    4. Check for Corrupt Files: Use the System File Checker tool to scan for and repair corrupt system files. You can do this by running sfc /scannow in the Command Prompt.
    5. Reinstall DirectX: If the above steps do not work, consider uninstalling any existing DirectX installations and then reinstalling it.
    6. Check for Antivirus Interference: Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with installations. Temporarily disable your antivirus and try the installation again.

If you continue to have issues, you may want to check the logs for more specific error messages that could indicate the root cause of the internal error.

Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

I understand the issue you have. There is nothing to worry about. I am here to assist. This issue occurs when there is a miscalibration with the display driver of the PC. May I know the make and model of your display/GPU driver? A clean installation of the display driver is necessary to sort out the issue.

Hi, thank you for that information. In this case, let us run a clean installation of the Nvidia driver. This is different from doing DDU or updating the driver, as this will remove all entries and replace them with compatible ones. Kindly follow the steps from the link below:

If none will work from the above solutions work, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade, wherein it will update the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.
