Multiple SMS_Distribution_Manager ?

Hello,

I noticed in the documentation https://systemcenterdudes.com/sccm-distribution-point-monitoring/
we could have several SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER...

  1. Why having multiple SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER?
  2. Which criteria are necessary to get them?

I have multiple Management Server, Distribution Point and not sure if I need multiple SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER

40,000 Clients
1,500 packages
12 Distribution Points
2 Management Server
....

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

    I checked my environment, it seems the component status SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER is for site server, CAS or primary site or secondary site, but not for site system server.
    Do your Distribution Points are installed in site system servers.
