My laptop based on AMD Ryzen 5 5600H apu doesn't receive updates for windows version.

I've bought my Asus Vivobook M3402Q 3 years ago in October 2022, without os, installed Windows 10 Pro and received update to Windows 11 pro. It got version 22H2 build 22621.4317

A month ago I realized that it still on 22H2 and start looking why it only receives security updates, but not OS updates. I've updated BIOS to the latest one, I've updated all drivers to the latest version from asus website, but it changed nothing. It still receives daily security updates, buy not OS. How to fix this.

The computer is new enough for any updates, It doesn't even have recommended drivers for Windows 10, and still runs on 22H2 build 22621.4317 installed on 04/10/2022

What to do to update windows?

Together with Chat GPT we found that Windows Update was functioning correctly, but Feature Updates were not offered because the system was stuck in an experimental/continuous-innovation configuration, causing the OS to treat Feature Updates as “Not Applicable”.

A PowerShell script was created and executed (as Administrator) to:

    Disable Continuous Innovation

    Remove experimental TargetingAttributes

    Clean WindowsSelfHost / OneSettings remnants

    Confirm MoSetup AllowUpgrade

    Restart Windows Update services

Force a fresh Appraiser compatibility run

After running the script and rebooting, Windows Update should re-evaluate Feature Update eligibility.

These actions didn't help, but most likely create a basis for next step:

I've downloaded and run file windows11.0-kb5027397-x64.msu (available at https://catalog.sf.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com/filestreamingservice/files/caa3ff4a-6420-4341-aeae-33b2d7f463be/public/windows11.0-kb5027397-x64_3a9c368e239bb928c32a790cf1663338d2cad472.msu)

after it's installation and reboot OS version changed to 23H2 and windows update started downloading Cumulative update

Hi ALEKSANDR SIDORKIN, I know how annoying this is—you’ve kept everything updated even the BIOS and yet Windows Update feels stuck.

To fix Windows 11 being stuck on 22H2 check for compatibility blocks and update any flagged drivers run the Compatibility Appraiser in Task Scheduler reset Windows Update components make sure your EFI and recovery partitions are large enough and if updates still don’t show use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant or ISO for an in place upgrade as a last resort apply a registry tweak to mark the device as upgrade-eligible and reboot.

When you check Update History, do you see any failed feature updates or only security updates? That will tell us if the upgrade was offered and blocked or never offered at all.

    Best regards
