Hello!

I have been attempting to access an old account that had Minecraft migrated on.

When I tried to log in I most likely tried a couple of passwords until it said that it has been locked due to too many tries. Even after 24 hours the lock is still on. This account has an authenticator set up but I don't have access to it since it is a decade old. I have changed my password multiple times and verified my phone number and email access but even after changing password as prompted by the Sign in helper but I am still locked out. I have not made any purchases on the account (not even Minecraft since I have bought it before the acquisition via Mojang) so the account recovery form immediately rejects my request.

Thank you

To recover a locked account due to too many sign-in attempts, especially when you do not have access to the authenticator app, you can follow these steps:

    1. Wait for the Lockout Period: Typically, accounts are locked for a specific duration after multiple failed sign-in attempts. This period can vary, but it often lasts about 30 minutes. After this time, you can try signing in again.
    2. Use Security Information: If your global admin has enabled it, you can reset your password using your security information. This usually involves answering security questions or receiving a code via email or SMS.
    3. Contact Support: If you are still unable to access your account after the lockout period, you should contact Microsoft support for further assistance. You can find the appropriate contact at Support for Business Products.
    4. Account Recovery Options: If you are a part of a company or organization, reach out to your global admin for help. If you are an individual user, you may need to fill out an account recovery form, although you mentioned that it was rejected due to no purchases made on the account.
    5. Two-Factor Authentication Issues: If you lost access to your two-factor authentication device, you can visit the Contact us support page and select the product you need help with.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, consider providing as much information as possible to support to verify your identity and ownership of the account.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Just to confirm, since you mentioned that this is an old account, may I know when was the last time you successfully signed in to your Microsoft account?

    Best regards,

    Darhyl
