The steps suggested to turn on Editor through Privacy & Data settings do not appear in my Settings. When I get to Privacy and Data, the only setting I can enable is under Privacy settings/Optional connected experiences. It is enabled and still no Editor on the ribbon.

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with the Editor feature in Outlook 365. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check for Updates: Make sure that your Outlook 365 is up to date. Sometimes, features may not appear if the application is not updated.
    2. Verify Optional Connected Experiences: Since you mentioned that the Optional connected experiences are enabled, ensure that your admin has not restricted the use of the Editor feature. You can check this by going to File > Account > Account Privacy and selecting Manage Settings. If your admin has disabled certain features, you may not see them.
    3. Restart Outlook: Sometimes, simply restarting the application can resolve issues with features not appearing.
    4. Check Ribbon Customization: Right-click on the ribbon and choose Customize the Ribbon. Ensure that the Editor feature is not unchecked in the list of available commands.
    5. Repair Office: If the issue persists, you might want to try repairing your Office installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select your Office installation, and choose Change. Then select Repair.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to reach out to your IT department or Microsoft support for further assistance.

Thanks for sharing the details, Susan! Try to enable Proofing Services directly through Word (Outlook shares these settings)

Sometimes Outlook hides the proofing UI, but Word can “reactivate” the shared proofing engine.

    1. Open Word

    File → Options → Proofing

Make sure these are turned ON:

✔ Check spelling as you type

✔ Mark grammar errors as you type

         ✔ Frequently confused words

✔ Autocorrect options (open and enable Replace text as you type)

            Close Word

            Restart Outlook

See if this helps. If you need further assistance just let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly
