BitLocker key entry issue

Question

I have a BitLocker key entry issue : it ask me to enter the recuperation key. I have it. But the keybord don't let me type in : it is like the keybord was off, even if i try to change to an other country setting.

If you are unable to type the BitLocker recovery key due to keyboard issues, you can try the following steps:

1. Use the On-Screen Keyboard: If your physical keyboard is not responding, you can use the on-screen keyboard. To access it, tap on the text input area, and it should prompt you to use the on-screen keyboard.
2. Check Keyboard Layout: Ensure that the keyboard layout is set correctly. If you have multiple layouts, switching to the correct one might help.
3. Use Accessibility Features: If available, you can activate accessibility features like the narrator to assist you in entering the recovery key. Press WIN + CTRL + Enter to activate the narrator.
4. Try a Different USB Keyboard: If you have a USB keyboard available, try connecting it to see if it works during the recovery process.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to use a recovery drive to access the command prompt and unlock the drive using the recovery key.

Thank you for posting, I am here to help you today. Please try this steps see if the keyboard will work.

Are you using a laptop or desktop?

If laptop

Shutdown your device and disconnect all the cables except the external keyboard. Turn on laptop check if it is working now on Bitlocker to enter key.

If not try to connect external keyboard to all USB port on your laptop and check again.

If still not working try to use another or new keyboard.
