Thank you for reaching out I understand how important it is to access your long-used email account especially since it’s the one everyone knows. It sounds frustrating to set up a new computer and then find that your old email isn’t recognized and this is a common situation when moving to a new device. I can imagine how inconvenient it must feel to have your contacts tied to an account you can’t currently access.
The message you’re seeing usually means the account still exists but it hasn’t been added to your new computer yet. Instead of creating it as a new account you’ll need to sign in using your existing credentials. If you’ve forgotten the password or if Microsoft doesn’t recognize the account you can use the account recovery process at Microsoft Account Recovery. Once you regain access you can add the account to your new computer through Settings select Accounts select Email & accounts or by signing in through Outlook.
Have you tried signing in with your original email and password or attempted the recovery steps?
I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back
Regards,
Marcelo
