Can not receive a verification code to my Microsoft account

I can sign into my account no problem but when I go to change something or try to get the bitlocker recovery id, it tries to send me the code via SMS but I never receive it. (I use an outlook email to log into Microsoft) I have no idea how to get to the bitlocker recovery id and that is what I need.

I have tried what they recommend on their website.

I have tried to recover the account, which i was able to but same problem as before. No verification code gets sent to my phone and I can't access what I need to access.

I also called "Microsoft" numbers and ran into scammers and I called Microsoft numbers that were just recordings and got no where.

Can anyone please direct me to a human who isn't a scammer?

I'm really hoping this makes sense and someone is able to help me.

Thank you

(I couldn't find a tag that fit so I apologize if this is in the wrong area)

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with receiving SMS verification codes for your Microsoft account, which can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Check Phone Number: Ensure that the phone number associated with your account is correct. You can verify this in your account settings.
    2. Try Other Verification Methods: If you have set up other options for security verification, select Other verification options and try again using a different method, such as an authenticator app or email verification.
    3. Limit on Verification Attempts: If you have attempted multiple times in a short period, Microsoft may limit further attempts. Wait a few minutes and try again.
    4. Third-party Security Apps: If you have any third-party security apps installed, they may be blocking the SMS messages. Try disabling them temporarily and request the code again.
    5. Contact Support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to contact Microsoft support directly. Be cautious of scam numbers; ensure you are using official Microsoft support channels. You can find support options on the Microsoft website.
    6. BitLocker Recovery ID: If you need to access your BitLocker recovery key, you can also check if it was saved to your Microsoft account online. Log into your Microsoft account and navigate to the BitLocker recovery keys section.

If you continue to have issues, consider reaching out to Microsoft support through their official channels for further assistance.
