I have a problem when using the Windows HDR Calibration tool which kept prompting me at my last step "Please keep the app on just one display" and I am not able to complete the calibration. Please advise the solution.

    Hello,

The Windows HDR Calibration Tool appears to have the issue you mentioned, and it often occurs when multiple monitors are connected. I tested this on my setup with three monitors, where the primary monitor is the only one with HDR functionality. Normally, the Windows HDR Calibration Tool launches on the HDR-compatible primary monitor. If there are no problems, after clicking Finish you should see the message: "Color profile associated. The color profile has been successfully associated with this display."

If the app does not recognize the HDR monitor and issues occur, disconnecting the other monitors should resolve the problem.

The Windows HDR Calibration Tool requires the following:

Calibrate your HDR display using the Windows HDR Calibration app

    • Display: HDR-compatible display (built-in or external)
    • Enable HDR via Settings > System > Display
    • App mode: The app must run in full-screen mode
    • Graphics card: A newer GPU (required for proper color saturation)
      • AMD: RX 400 series or newer, or AMD Ryzen processor with Radeon Graphics
      • Intel: Integrated: 11th generation (Ice Lake) or newer; Discrete: DG1 or newer
      • NVIDIA: GTX 10xx or newer (Pascal+)
    • Display driver: WDDDM 2.7 or newer (Press Windows key + R, type dxdiag, and click OK. On the Display tab for your HDR monitor, check the driver model in the Driver section.)
    1. If you are using multiple monitors, use only the HDR monitor.
    2. Install the latest graphics driver.
    3. Check for Windows updates, Microsoft Store updates, and updates for the Windows HDR Calibration Tool.
    4. Perform a complete shutdown: hold down the Shift key on your keyboard while shutting down.
    5. Remove the monitor data and reconnect the HDR monitor.

Before proceeding, please manually check for Windows updates and Microsoft Store updates.

We have found that when registry edits, Windows updates, and Microsoft Store updates are performed simultaneously, the PC may crash, enter a recovery loop, or fail to accept operations from the recovery environment. In such cases, you will need to initialize Windows using installation media.

Please make a backup of your important data to another storage device before continuing. We also recommend creating a recovery drive or installation media.

    Steps to follow:

1)Download het nieuwste grafische stuurprogramma van de fabrikant van uw computer (of van NVIDIA, AMD of Intel).

    1. Hold down the Shift key while shutting down. If multiple monitors are connected, connect only the HDR-compatible monitor and disconnect the others.
    2. Go offline and disconnect from the internet. Press Windows key + X to open Device Manager. Expand Display adapters and select Uninstall device. Make sure to check “Delete the driver software for this device.” Restart your computer, install the downloaded graphics driver, and then restart your computer again. An internet connection may be required during driver installation. If so, please connect.
    3. Delete all subkeys under the following registry keys:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Configuration
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Connectivity
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\ScaleFactors

The key to delete is the one shown in the red square in the image.463

    1. Hold down the Shift key while shutting down. Turn your PC back on, start the Windows HDR Calibration Tool, and check if the issue persists.
