Dear Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to request urgent assistance in regaining access to my Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) tenant. I am the only Global Administrator in our organization, and after enforcing the “Phishing-resistant MFA strength required for Administrators” Conditional Access policy, I was signed out of my session.

Unfortunately, I am now unable to sign back into my Global Admin account because the policy requires a phishing-resistant authentication method (such as a FIDO2 key) that was not yet registered on my account.

As a result, I am completely locked out of the tenant and cannot modify or disable the policy.

Below are the key details:

Issue: Locked out of Azure AD Global Administrator account

Cause: Conditional Access policy requiring phishing-resistant MFA was applied without a registered FIDO2 method

Current Access: No ability to sign in or manage authentication methods

Admins Available: I am the only Global Administrator

Impact: Unable to manage tenant security, users, or services

Urgency: Critical – requires immediate assistance

I kindly request that Microsoft Support help me verify tenant ownership and restore access to my Global Administrator account or remove/reset the MFA requirement so I can sign in again.

Please let me know the required verification details, and I will provide them immediately.

Thank you for your prompt support.

Thanks & Regards,

Rahul Vishwakarma

To regain access to your Microsoft Entra ID tenant as the only Global Administrator, you will need to contact the Azure Data Protection team for assistance. Since you are locked out due to the enforcement of a Conditional Access policy requiring phishing-resistant MFA, and you do not have a registered FIDO2 key, the Azure Data Protection team can help you verify tenant ownership and restore access to your account.

Here are the steps you can take:

    1. Contact Azure Data Protection Team: Call the Azure Data Protection team at +1 866-807-5850 for immediate assistance.
    2. Provide Verification Details: Be prepared to provide any necessary verification details to confirm your identity and ownership of the tenant.
    3. Request Policy Modification: Ask them to either reset the MFA requirement or assist you in registering a phishing-resistant authentication method.

Since you are the only Global Admin, this is a critical situation, and contacting the support team directly is the best course of action to regain access.

    Hello Rahul,

Thank you for posting question on Microsoft Windows Forum.

Based on the issue description. Since you are the only Global Administrator and you are fully locked out, this becomes a tenant lockout emergency, and only Microsoft Support can restore access. The only path forward is to open a support ticket with Microsoft and request a “Global Administrator account recovery / tenant lockout escalation.”

The suggestion here is to open a Severity A (Critical) support ticket with Microsoft. They might have an established process specifically for "Sole Global Administrator lockout" scenarios.

    1.Premier/Unified Support Portal (If Applicable).

2.Microsoft 365 Admin Center (If Accessible).

    3.Direct Phone Support.

Hope the above information is helpful! If it is. Free feel to hit "Accepted" for benefitting others in community having the same issue too.
