A section has gone missing in onenote. It was there the last time I used Onenote.

Hi,

Your missing OneNote section is most likely due to sync issues, accidental deletion, or version conflicts between devices. The good news is that OneNote rarely deletes data permanently right away it usually stores deleted sections in the Notebook Recycle Bin for 60 days or keeps older versions in OneDrive Version History.

Quick Fix:

First, search for the section in OneNote.

If not found, check the Notebook Recycle Bin under History.

If still missing, restore an older version from OneDrive.

Hi again,

To restore an older version of a file in OneDrive using the built-in Version History feature. Here’s how:

On Windows (File Explorer)

Open your OneDrive folder in File Explorer.

Right-click the file you want to restore.

Select Version history.

A list of previous versions will appear. Choose the version you want and click Restore.

On OneDrive Web

Go to OneDrive.com and sign in.

Navigate to the file.

Right-click the file and select Version history.

Review the list of versions, click the one you want, then choose Restore or Download.

NOTE: Version History works for files stored in OneDrive (including Office documents).

If the file was deleted, check the Recycle Bin in OneDrive web first.

For non-Office files, OneDrive keeps versions for up to 30 days (or longer if you have a paid plan).
