Publisher features missing from Word

The argument I've seen given for discontinuing Publisher is that you can do all of the same things in Word. This is patently false. For example:

I cannot drag elements (text boxes, images) off the side of the page, keeping them nearby (or even saving them there as a collection for later use) for the sake of arranging them on the page.

There is no eyedropper tool for selecting colors from images.

There is no booklet preview along the side of the window for arranging the order of pages within a booklet-formatted document.

Word does not insert new pages in groups of 4 consistent with booklet formatting.

Please advise how I can achieve these functions within Word, or reconsider discontinuing Publisher.

You're correct that Word is not a substitute for Publisher. However, Microsoft is not monitoring these boards for suggestions. Instead, please consider adding your vote to this Feedback Suggestion that Publisher should not be discontinued: MS Publisher Microsoft uses this feedback to prioritize their programming.

Desktop Word does have a feature for printing a document as a booklet. For instructions, see
