    Hi Isaac,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand how frustrating it can be when you expect a built-in tool like Snipping Tool to record your screen, only to find it doesn’t work on Windows 10. You’re not alone many users have run into this limitation.

First, the reason you can’t record with Snipping Tool is that screen recording is only available in Windows 11. On Windows 10, Snipping Tool supports screenshots but not video capture.

Second, a great built-in alternative is the Xbox Game Bar. You can open it by pressing Win + G, then start recording with Win + Alt + R. This works well for most apps and saves videos in your Captures folder. However, it won’t record the desktop or File Explorer.

Lastly, if you need more flexibility like selecting specific areas or recording everything many community members recommend free tools such as OBS Studio or ShareX. They’re widely trusted, powerful, and give you full control over your recordings.

I hope you find this information helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions If the answer is helpful, please click "Accept Answer".
