How to restore Windows activation after updating BIOS (also changed processor)

Hello. I replaced the processor and updated the BIOS, after which Windows activation crashed. I do not have a local account, but a Microsoft account. Actions like clicking on "The physical components of this device have recently changed", fixing problems, etc. do not help (I tried everything I could find on the Internet). In the account, I also deleted all associated devices from the profile, it does not help. Activation error 0xC004C003

I tried another key of mine that I bought this year for another computer (I have already disassembled and sold the computer itself, the key is just lying around) and this other key also does not accept. Can anyone give advice on what to do in this case? Thanks

To restore Windows activation after updating your BIOS and changing the processor, you can follow these steps:

    1. Re-activate Windows: After significant hardware changes, Windows may require re-activation. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation and select Troubleshoot. Choose the option indicating that the physical components of your device have recently changed.
    2. Use Command Prompt for Activation: If the troubleshooter does not resolve the issue, you can try activating Windows via the command line. Open an elevated command prompt (right-click and select "Run as administrator") and enter the command:
         slmgr.vbs /ato

This command attempts to activate Windows online.
    3. Verify Product Key Validity: Ensure that the product key you are using is valid for your current version of Windows. If the key was previously linked to another device, it may not work if that device has been sold or disassembled.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for assistance. They can help with activation problems, especially if you have a legitimate product key that is not being accepted.
    5. Create a Local Account: If issues persist, you might want to create a local account and attempt activation again. Sometimes, switching accounts can help resolve activation issues.

Make sure your Windows and drivers are up to date, as this can also impact activation status.

    Hi,

this error occurs on computers with corporate license and means "the specified product key is blocked". Please ask you company's system administrator for the help.

For home computer this error code says the activation and possibly installation were made illegally. This could do unfair seller, technician or any other person during computer repairing.

Seems you need to ask for a new key.
