Lost my OneDrive data and trying to restore. When I try the restore, I get an error message:

Could not finish restoring OneDrive.

How can I get my data back?

Thanks for reporting this issue, official guidance explains OneDrive restore works only within the retention window, up to 30 days for personal accounts, and errors appear when the chosen date falls outside retention or when account sync or storage shows problems.

Please sign in to OneDrive on the web and check Recycle bin and Second-stage Recycle bin, since deleted files stay there for a limited time under supported recovery. Also open an affected file and review Version history, since file level restore often succeeds without running full restore.

If the restore error continues, support guidance directs account owners to contact OneDrive support from the help menu while signed in, because backend recovery checks require account verification.
