Hello. I am caught in a loop where my MFA appears to be out of sync with my access method. I set up an Azure Portal account using my personal email address, PII removed. I am the only user. Now the Authenticator app only generates 8 digit codes, not 6. When I try to change MFA I cannot log in because the Authenticator App 2-digit codes is not set up on my phone and I cannot log in to set it up. I have reviewed other answers, and this appears to be a tenant lockout situation.

Please help me figure this out.

    Hello Ted Ingram,

The issue pertains to a tenant lockout, where no other global admin in the tenant has the necessary permissions to login and make changes in your tenant.

To resolve this, we have engaged our Data Protection team through a support ticket. They will reach out to you via email or phone to help restore access to the tenant and assist in resolving the issue.
