To connect your desktop speakers, follow these steps:

    1. Check Connections: Ensure that your speakers are properly connected to the correct audio output port on your desktop. Typically, this is the green port on the back of the computer.
    2. Power On: Make sure your speakers are powered on and the volume is turned up.
    3. Set Default Playback Device:
      • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
      • In the Playback tab, find your speakers in the list. If they are not listed, try reconnecting them.
      • Right-click on your speakers and select Set as Default Device.
    4. Update Drivers: Since you mentioned you have updated drivers, ensure that you have the latest audio drivers installed. You can do this through Device Manager:
      • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
      • Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
      • Right-click on your audio device and select Update driver.
    5. Troubleshoot: If the speakers still do not work, you can run the Windows troubleshooter:
      • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Playing Audio and follow the prompts.

If you continue to experience issues, consider checking the speaker's compatibility with your system or trying them on another device to rule out hardware problems.

Hello Luis Duany, thanks for posting this in our community.

First, make sure your speakers are plugged into the correct audio port, which is usually green for output. If you are using USB speakers, confirm they are properly connected and powered.

Next, verify the default playback device. On Windows 10 or 11, right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and open Sound settings. Under Output, select your speakers as the default device. If you see multiple devices such as HDMI or Bluetooth, make sure the correct one is selected.

Test the audio by going to Sound settings, selecting Device properties, and clicking Test. If no sound plays, continue with the following steps.

Sometimes updated drivers can cause issues. Open Device Manager and go to Sound, video and game controllers. Right-click your audio device, select Properties, then go to the Driver tab. Try rolling back the driver if that option is available, or reinstall the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

Check that audio services are running. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and ensure Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder are active. Restart them if needed.

Disable audio enhancements by opening Sound settings, selecting your speakers, going to Properties, and then the Enhancements tab. Check the option to disable all enhancements.

Run the Windows troubleshooter by going to Settings, then System, then Sound, and selecting Troubleshoot. Follow the wizard to detect and fix issues automatically.

If none of these steps work, check your BIOS to ensure onboard audio is enabled. Also, test the speakers on another device to rule out hardware failure.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
