When Microsoft Edge browser is opened it does not open in full screen mode. It minimizes to the task bar at the bottom of the monitor screen. I can see what the screen presentation is but it won't maximize to full view.

Microsoft Edge | Open the browser | Windows 11

Great, I am happy that worked. This could just be a bug or temporary glitch in the system.

If Microsoft Edge is not opening in full screen mode and instead minimizes to the taskbar, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some potential solutions:

    1. Check Full-Screen Mode Settings: Ensure that the full-screen mode is allowed. You can check the Group Policy settings for Microsoft Edge to see if the AllowFullScreenMode policy is enabled. If it is disabled, Edge will not be able to enter full-screen mode.
    2. Use the Full-Screen Shortcut: Try pressing F11 on your keyboard while Edge is open. This shortcut toggles full-screen mode on and off.
    3. Update Microsoft Edge: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Microsoft Edge. Sometimes, bugs in older versions can cause issues with full-screen functionality.
    4. Check for Conflicting Applications: Some applications running in the background may interfere with Edge's ability to maximize. Try closing other applications to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Reset Edge Settings: If the problem persists, consider resetting Edge settings to their default values. This can resolve any misconfigurations that may be affecting its performance.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to consult Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hi, good day!

Do you have a secondary monitor connected? If so, please try disconnecting it and see if the issue persists.

If this doesn't work, open Microsoft Edge then Press and Hold the Shift key on your keyboard. Right click the affected application on the taskbar. Select Move then use the left and right arrows on your keyboard to move to the center.

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed by clicking "Add comment" below.
