BITLOCKER KEY

sir this is ARAVIND from Hyderabad,India. On 10th April 2021 i have purchased HP laptop from the HP store in Hyderabad, at the time of purchasing none of them(staff)told me regarding the BITLOCKER KEY i am not aware of it. At the time of purchase sales person had created Microsoft account but BITLOCKER KEYS are not backup in my account can you please provide keys so that i can get my FILES back please

If you have not backed up your BitLocker recovery keys to your Microsoft account or any other location, it may be challenging to recover your files. Here are some steps you can take to try and retrieve your BitLocker recovery key:

1. Check Microsoft Entra ID: If your device is connected to Microsoft Entra ID, you can access your BitLocker recovery keys by visiting https://myaccount.microsoft.com. Go to the Devices tab and select your Windows device to view the BitLocker keys.
2. Contact Helpdesk or IT Support: If your device is part of a corporate network, your IT department may have access to the recovery keys stored in Active Directory. They can assist you in retrieving the key.
3. Check Other Backup Locations: If you had the option to save the recovery key to a USB drive or print it, check those locations. The recovery key can also be saved as a text file on a USB drive.
4. Use BitLocker Repair Tool: If you have access to the drive but cannot unlock it, you might consider using the BitLocker Repair tool to attempt to recover the data.

Unfortunately, if none of these options are available, recovering the files without the BitLocker recovery key may not be possible.

If your drive is encrypted with Bitlocker, the only place the Bitlocker Recovery key is automatically stored is on the associated Microsoft account on the link below, be sure to check any Microsoft account that may have been used on the PC and also any work or school account that may be linked to the PC.

Are you able to find the Bitlocker Recovery Key on any account that may have been used or linked to the laptop?

If not, do you have a safe backup of your files, or use a cloud service like OneDrive to sync your files online.

Microsoft Support cannot help to find the Bitlocker Key, they do not have access to that, if you are unable to find the Bitlocker Recovery Key on any account that may have been used on that device, then I am sorry for the bad news, the only way to access that device is to create a bootable Windows 11 USB on another working PC and use that to clean install Windows and at the start of the installation, delete all partitions on the drive to remove the encryption, which will sadly result in loss of all data on the drive.
