    Hello,

That usually means Microsoft Defender removed a file that Foxit Reader needs, which makes it look like the app was uninstalled. Try to verify the detection, update Defender, then reinstall a clean, signed build of Foxit.

Open Windows Security > Virus and threat protection > Protection history. Find the entry that mentioned Foxit around the time it disappeared, expand it, and note the exact threat name and the affected items. Now install all Windows Updates and Security intelligence updates, then restart. After the restart run a Full scan from Windows Security to make sure the device is clean.

Next, download the latest Foxit Reader only from the official Foxit website.

Before running the installer, right click it, choose Properties, open the Digital Signatures tab, and confirm the signer is Foxit Software Incorporated and the signature status is OK. If the signature is missing or not OK, do not install it. If the signature is valid, install Foxit and use it normally.

If Defender flags it again, do not click Allow. Instead, remove the detected item when prompted and share the exact threat name shown in Protection history so we can check if it is a false positive or something bundled with the installer.
