iOS Edge is logging into a wrong account

I have multiple logins to a website, and with every browser besides Edge on iOS I am able to sign into both. However, I can only sign into one of those accounts when I am using Edge on my iPhone 15 (iOS version 26.1). Whenever I enter another login (username/password) Edge overrides the login with a different login that I have saved on Desktop (Windows 11) Edge. For example, when I am logged into account1 on desktop Edge, I cannot login to account2 on iOS Edge, the website logs into account1. I've talked with the website support and they don't have any problems with account overlap. I've also confirmed that this is only happening on iOS Edge. Chrome, Firefox, DuckDuckGo, and Safari don't do this with any of the various logins that I use for the site.

I think that there may be a big problem where Edge is pre-filling and/or forcing me to login using different usernames/passwords without ever notifying me. Anyone else seeing this problem?

It seems that the issue you're experiencing with Microsoft Edge on iOS could be related to how Edge manages saved passwords and syncs them across devices. When you save passwords in Edge, they can be automatically filled in based on the saved credentials, which might lead to the behavior you're describing where it overrides the login with a different account.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Saved Passwords: Go to the Edge settings on your iOS device and review the saved passwords. Ensure that the credentials for both accounts are saved correctly and that there are no duplicates.
    2. Disable Autofill: You can try disabling the autofill feature for passwords in Edge on iOS to see if that resolves the issue. This way, you can manually enter the credentials without Edge automatically filling them in.
    3. Clear Browsing Data: Clearing the browsing data, including saved passwords and cache, might help reset any conflicting data that could be causing the issue.
    4. Sign Out and Sign In Again: Sometimes, signing out of your Microsoft account in Edge and signing back in can help refresh the settings and sync.
    5. Check Sync Settings: Ensure that your sync settings are configured correctly. You may want to check if the password sync is affecting your logins.

If the problem persists, it may be beneficial to report this behavior to Microsoft, as it could be a bug specific to the iOS version of Edge.

    Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for posting, I am here to help. Possible reason you are getting this problem is due to sync conflicts and profile settings, where the app defaults to your primary synced account.

To fix this please follow this steps:

On your Desktop use private browsing for MSEDGE. Log in 1st account don't remember the password to avoid sync to your iPhone MSEDGE app.

On you IOS open MSEDGE app then go to 3 dots - settings, Tap on your profile check for Sync settings and turn off Sync.

Let me know how this goes. Looking forward to helping you out.  If you need more help please feel free to let me know. If the answer is helpful, please click "Accept Answer".
