View Filters are "off". That isn't the cause. Most emails arrive and are displayed. I see no common thread in the disappeared emails.
emails not being displayed
New PC running windows 11 with Outlook Classic. Emails arrive and I hear the chime. I briefly see a flash of the incoming email, but it immediately disappears and doesn't appear in the In-box or in any other folder in Outlook. I also hear the chime of it arriving on my cell phone and I find it on the server of my ISP. Just not in Outlook on my PC. I reviewed the View settings in Outlook. Nothing there has anything to do with this problem. There is obviously a setting causing this but as usual it is buried so deep that the average user can't find it.

Q&A Assist2025-12-17T03:21:07.8466667+00:00 AI generated content. This question contains an answer created with AI from Q&A Assist. Learn moreIt seems that the emails you are receiving in Outlook Classic are not appearing in your Inbox due to a possible filtering issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:
- Check View Settings: Go to the View tab in the ribbon, then select View Settings. From there, click on Filter and review the filtering options. Make sure that no filters are set that could be hiding your emails, such as filters based on date, keywords, or read/unread status.
- Item Processing Notification: Sometimes, emails may be temporarily hidden while they are processed. If the notification about the new email does not reach the ItemProcSearch search folder, the email may remain hidden. This can happen if the processing fails.
- Account Compatibility: Ensure that your Outlook account is compatible with the version you are using. If you are using a POP or on-premises Exchange account, it might affect how emails are displayed.
- Update Outlook: Make sure that your Outlook is updated to the latest version, as updates can fix bugs and improve functionality.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
