The keys '2', 'W', 'S', 'X', and CapsLock have very long time to boot. The problem only occurs when I bring out the laptop, if i stay from the same place and boot my laptop there, every boot is as usual as it can get. Only when I travel around, those keys aren't working after boot. And I can't login without one of the keys. So i keed to hold the keys down for minutes to wait them to be detected. Once detected all the keys work as expected, no input delay or anything. I thought it was because of my usage, but seeing the 'X' and CaspLock that I don't use a lot, makes me think that this might be a software problem.

    1

Open Command Prompt, then run this command and press Enter:

    msdt.exe -id KeyboardDiagnostic

Run that Keyboard Troubleshooter to see if that can solve the problem.

Please try this to run the troubleshooter

    Open the Settings App

Go to Update & Security - Troubleshoot

    Click Additional Troubleshooters

    Run the Keyboard troubleshooter

Then teat if that resolves the problem.

If that does not resolve this problem for you

When you start your laptop, if those keys are not working correctly, click the accessibility icon at the bottom of the login screen and bring up the on-screen keyboard, is that working to log you into Windows?

It sounds like you are experiencing a specific issue with keyboard responsiveness during startup, particularly when moving your laptop to a different location. This behavior may be related to how the keyboard input is processed during the boot sequence.

One potential cause for the delayed detection of certain keys could be related to the system's boot performance and how it handles keyboard input during that time. If the laptop is in a different environment (e.g., different power settings or hardware connections), it might affect the startup process.

Additionally, the Keyboard Filter service, which manages keyboard inputs, may not be fully operational during the early stages of booting, leading to delays in recognizing certain keys. This service is bypassed in Safe Mode, which indicates that the problem may be linked to how the operating system initializes keyboard input at startup.

To troubleshoot this issue, consider the following steps:

    1. Ensure that your laptop's firmware (BIOS/UEFI) is updated, as updates can improve hardware compatibility and performance.
    2. Check for any keyboard-related settings in your operating system that might affect input responsiveness.
    3. Test the laptop in different locations to see if environmental factors (like power supply or interference) could be influencing the keyboard's performance.
    4. If possible, try using an external keyboard to see if the issue persists, which can help determine if it's a hardware or software problem.

If the problem continues, you may want to consult with technical support for further assistance.
