How can I resolve the verification issue, since I cannot add my number to my Microsoft account and cannot redeem cards?

Hello,

Microsoft Rewards is available in Ecuador and the Robux reward appears in the catalog.

However, when trying to redeem Robux, phone verification is required and Ecuador phone numbers (+593) are not recognized for SMS verification.

This prevents completing the redemption, even though it worked previously (last successful redemption on November 3).

Is SMS verification currently disabled for Ecuador, or is there any alternative verification method to redeem Robux through Microsoft Rewards?

Thank you.

Currently, certain country codes, including Ecuador (+593), may require opt-in for SMS verification for Microsoft services. If SMS verification is not working for your Ecuadorian phone number, it could be due to this requirement. As of January 2025, some country codes will be deactivated by default for SMS verification, and you would need to activate them for your application using specific policies.

To resolve the verification issue, you can try the following alternatives:

    1. Use an Authenticator App: If available, consider using the Microsoft Authenticator app for verification instead of SMS.
    2. Contact Support: Reach out to Microsoft support for assistance regarding your account and the verification process. They may provide alternative methods or help you with the verification issue.
    3. Check Account Settings: Ensure that your phone number is correctly registered in your account settings and that there are no issues with the number format or country code.

If these options do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to wait until the SMS verification for Ecuador is enabled or find another method for account verification.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Unfortunately, it is not possible to redeem in Microsoft Rewards without a phone number for verification.

Also, there are no announcements that the SMS verification is disabled in your region.

I just want to confirm, do you mean you are unable to add your phone number for the Microsoft Rewards verification method?

Or do you mean your number is already added, but you can't receive the verification codes to complete the redemption?

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

You mentioned: "I went to my account to add the number since it was not showing up, but I simply could not add it."

Just to clarify, does this mean that your phone number was removed from your account during November? Kindly confirm it on account.microsoft.com > go to Your Info > check the phone number under account info.

If yes, once the phone number has been removed from the account, you can't re-add it again.

The only way to fix this is to add a new phone number that is not associated with any Microsoft accounts for the Reward verification method.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl
