I have done all the help details on MS support and nothing has worked. My hotmail account is now @outlook. I need my hotmail acct back. MS shows that it does not exist and when I try to create a new one with the same hotmail email that I have used for years it now says that that address is already taken? I have tried several different ways to open/connect to the hotmail acct they all say same thing. PLEASE HELP !!! This all happened with the last week.

It seems that your Hotmail account has been transitioned to an Outlook.com account, which is a common update Microsoft has made to unify its email services. If you are unable to access your Hotmail account and receive a message stating that it does not exist, it is possible that there may be an issue with the account migration or login process.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Account Status: Ensure that you are using the correct email address and password. Sometimes, users may forget their credentials. You can try resetting your password if you suspect it might be incorrect.
    2. Account Recovery: Use the Microsoft account recovery process to regain access to your account. You can visit the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the prompts to recover your account.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Microsoft support directly for assistance. They can provide more specific help regarding your account status and any potential issues with the migration.
    4. Wait and Retry: Sometimes, account transitions can take time to fully process. If you just experienced the change, waiting a bit and trying again later may help.

Since you mentioned that the email address is already taken when trying to create a new account, this indicates that your original account is still recognized in the system, but there may be a problem with accessing it.

If you continue to have issues, reaching out to Microsoft support will likely be the most effective way to resolve your situation.

Hi! Could you please share more details about the situation? How was the account changed to Outlook? Do you mean that you added a Hotmail alias to your account and then deleted the Hotmail one? If thats the case, unfortunately is not possible to recover a deleted alias.
