How to accept comma correction Editor grammar checker without replacing the word before it?

When Word's grammar checker throws up a suggestion to insert a comma before or after a word, Is it possible to accept the correction and only have the comma inserted, rather than replacing the word it relates to? I use Tracked Changes and other people find the word replacement confusing, whereas if they could just see a comma inserted, the correction would be clearer.

    Hi AJ Collins,

Welcome to posting your concern on Microsoft Q&A.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about comma correction in Microsoft Word. This is the great suggestion for development.

Basically, when Editor suggests adding a comma, it rewrites the phrase, and Track Changes treats that rewrite as a full replacement rather than a simple insertion. There is no setting that forces Word to show only the comma insertion.

Hence, about this improvement, I'm encouraging you to submit feedback through the Microsoft Feedback Hub ("Windows+F"). If you pass the issue through this path, it will be escalated to the development team.

As moderators of the Microsoft Community, even we are not involved in product design decisions and do not have direct access to the development roadmap, we want to ensure that your feedback has been acknowledged and valued.

Alternatively, I still found some optional troubleshoot that you can check it out, such as:

    1. Simple Markup — hides details until they click a markup bar
    2. All Markup — shows everything inline or in balloons
    3. You can see the details here: Accept tracked changes

Thank you for your understanding. We hope this guide is helpful to your situation and that it will be updated soon.

    Greetings
