To reset the admin user for your Azure Databricks account, you need to have a Microsoft Entra ID Global Administrator establish the new account admin role. Here are the steps to follow:
- Sign in to Azure Portal: The Global Administrator should sign into the Azure Portal with their credentials.
- Access the Account Console: Go to the Azure Databricks account console at https://accounts.azuredatabricks.net and sign in with Microsoft Entra ID. This will automatically create an account admin role for the Global Administrator.
- User Management: Click on User management in the account console.
- Delegate Admin Role: Find the username of the user you want to delegate the account admin role to, click on it, and on the Roles tab, turn on Account admin.
Once another user has been assigned the account admin role, the Global Administrator can remove themselves from the Azure Databricks account if desired.
If you do not have a Global Administrator available, you may need to contact Microsoft support for assistance in regaining access to your account console.
