Bluetooth Not Working

My bluetooth suddenly stopped working while I was using it. I tried a bunch of ideas I found online, such as updating bluetooth-related drivers, and none worked. In order to find my bluetooth drivers in the device manager, I need to click "show hidden devices". When I open the properties of one of the bluetooth-related devices, I get the following error message: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.". How do I fix this?

It is now working again. I have no idea why. I turned it off and on again, but I'd done that before without it fixing the issue.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

The "Error code 45" occurs if a device that was previously connected to the computer is no longer connected. To resolve this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

In this situation, you can try a few troubleshooting steps on the software side to help Windows reconnect with the Bluetooth adapter. If not, it can be a hardware issue.

Method 1. Run the System Restore Method.

    • As this issue occurred recently, you can try this method.
    • Type rstrui.exe in the run dialog box and click ok.
    • Click Next, then select the date/time you would like to restore your computer to.

Method 2. Install the Drivers from the PC Manufacturer's website.

    • Go to your Motherboard or PC manufacturer's website.
    • Download the Bluetooth driver for your device Model and install it.
    • Once installed, please restart your computer and verify it is detected. (without selecting the Hidden items check box).

If you are having difficulty finding the correct drivers for your device model, type msinfo in the search bar on the taskbar and click Enter.

Post a screenshot of the resulting dialog box.
