Can I create multiple S2S VPN gateways on the same subscription (provided that I have multiple VNETs)? OR do they have to be on their own subscription?

Hello @Frank Nguyen , Thank you for reaching out. As mentioned above by Alan, the current limit is 1 VPN gateway per Vnet. However, just to add additional details you can create multiple connections to the same VPN gateway. When you create multiple connections to the same VPN gateway, all VPN tunnels share the available gateway bandwidth. You can refer top this document to explore VPN gateway SKU's and their limitations. You can also go through this documentation for additional Networking limits. Please let me know if there are any additional concerns.

So if I add an additional VNET to my existing subscription, can I create another VPN gateway and tie it to the new VNET? The reason I ask is because I want to test out a new route based VPN gateway (currently we have policy based VPN gateway) before implement it. Thanks for your advice

Yes, you can have a second VPN gateway on a different VNET in the same subscription.

Yes definitely you can do this as mentioned by Alan above.
In my answer I just wanted to provide additional details on how you can create multiple connections to the same VPN gateway as I was not aware of the reason to create a new gateway. Please let me know if there are any additional concerns. Thank you!
