Edge --kiosk-printing freezing up suddenly

We have several kiosks running an appointment-making system that was working fine until this morning. To be succinct, a part of the sequence includes sending a print job out to a receipt printer as a handy reminder to the user of when their appointment is. However, when we hit the print sequence (which uses javascript window.print()) the Edge print screen flashes on (as it always did) but then the Edge hangs on the subsequent page that is being printed. I took off the --kiosk-printing switch in the registry (where I had to set it in order to get silent printing in the first place), and the print screen pops up, and prints when the PRINT button is pressed.

Why is Edge suddenly freezing on silent printing? This isn't a single computer issue. All three of our appointment kiosks are doing it. Removing silent printing is not a feasible solution, given that Edge pops up the print page, and the user will have to take an extra step. There were no issues until this morning. It has been working fine since July when we switched from Chrome to Edge (because of the single app mode in Windows 10).

    I can reproduce the issue on Edge Version 94.0.992.31. The page hangs when print with --kiosk-printing and it will show Print failed when you navigate to another page.

    I suggest that you can provide feedback about this issue by pressing Alt+Shift+I in Edge browser. Edge team will check the feedbacks and improve the product continuously.

    We are seeing the same thing with our check-in systems that use Edge with the --kiosk-printing option for label printing. Any resolution (or workaround) would be terrific so thanks for looking into this!

    Guys,

    I'm having this issue on production today.
    I have switched to Chrome. Kiosk printing works great on Chrome. I think wait for the edge team to fix it is hopeless.

    We are also facing the same issue with silent printing on Edge in all Kiosk devices... This issue started after the Edge version 94.
    As a workaround we've added some Intune ADMX policies to set the Edge version to 93 where the Kiosk silent print still works.
    We have a ticket opened with Microsoft and we are hoping to get this sorted as soon as possible.
