WSUS DB Large due to tbXML table size

shockoMS 211 Reputation points

On my of my WSUS servers (Upstream and downstream) the DB has grown to over 15 GB. Our estate is small (~1400 windows machines). I notice that the table tbXML is ~ 6 GB. It seems to contain localization data or the like. I'm only selecting English under Options -> Update Files and Languages File -> Update Languages

Does anyone know the purpose of this or how to safely clear it down?

Thanks for your posting on Q&A.

I don't know what the actually datas are included into the table tbXML. There is no such Official Document for reference. But I tried to test it in my lab and I would like to sahre the test result with you.

I ran this PowerShell Scripts to decline the Superseded updates and run the Server Cleanup Wizard. Some datas are deleted from the table. Here is the screenshots for you:

Hope the above will be hlpful.

Thanks! That's good info. I'll haver a look at my own environment and see what updates seem to tie in to this table.
