Outlook.com now requires Oauth2 support from email clients trying to connect.

Modern Authentication Methods now needed to continue syncing Outlook Email in non-Microsoft email apps

In looking over Spark's website, I can't find any reference to this protocol being supported by the Windows client (the iOS and Android clients may have it). This Spark page has suggestions for issues connecting to Outlook.com/Hotmail including how to get Spark's Support folks involved:

    Hi Janey,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand how frustrating it can be. I'm here to help!

First, make sure IMAP is enabled in your Outlook.com settings. You can check this by signing in to Outlook web, going to Settings → Mail → Sync email, and confirming that “Let devices and apps use IMAP” is turned on.

Second, confirm your email is the primary alias in your Microsoft account, as secondary aliases often cause authentication issues.

Third, when adding the account in Spark, choose manual setup and enter the correct server details:

    • IMAP: outlook.office365.com, Port 993, SSL/TLS
    • SMTP: outlook.office365.com, Port 587, STARTTLS

Use your full email address as the username for both.

Last, if issue persist try switching networks as these can block Spark’s connection. Also, ensure Outlook and Spark are updated to the latest versions. If none of these steps work sending diagnostics to Spark support can help identify backend issues.

I hope you find this information helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions If the answer is helpful, please click "Accept Answer".

    Regards,

    Carlo
