I'm having an activation issue. My new laptop has given the following error codes: 0xC004C003; 0xC004F034. My previous laptop does not show as an active device in my Microsoft account although it did previously.

Background: I purchased Windows 10/11 Pro on June 6, 2025 via the Microsoft Store desktop app. The software was installed on my previous laptop [Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360]; however, that PC has since been damaged [cracked screen] and I no longer use it. I am wanting to apply that digital license to my new device [Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro], which is now my primary device. When you use the activation troubleshooter you select Changed hardware and you do not see the Samsung device in the list. (is that correct)

In which case, you will need to check the account used to by the licence to make sure it shows the Home to Pro upgrade licence. I assume the new device has Home edition activated?

If you cannot use the activation troubleshooter you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly. Use the Get Help app and type chat with an agent then select Contact Support.

That is my situation. I will have to contact Microsoft directly. I am going through the help and the automated GUI doesn't accept my installation ID.

To resolve the activation issues you're experiencing with your new laptop, let's look at the error codes you've provided:

    1. Error Code 0xC004C003: This error indicates that the activation server determined that the specified product key is blocked. This can happen if the key was previously used on another device that is no longer active or if there are issues with the licensing.
    2. Error Code 0xC004F034: This error means that Windows Pro isn't activated on your device. This can occur if the device does not have a valid license or if the license is not applied correctly.

Since you mentioned that your previous laptop does not show as an active device in your Microsoft account, it may be necessary to ensure that the digital license associated with your previous device is properly transferred to your new device. Here are some steps you can take:

    • Check your Microsoft account: Make sure that your previous laptop is indeed removed from your account. If it is still listed, you may need to remove it to free up the license.
    • Use the Activation Troubleshooter: On your new laptop, go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation, and use the troubleshooter to see if it can help resolve the activation issue.
    • Contact Microsoft Support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to contact Microsoft Support for assistance with transferring your digital license to your new device.

Make sure that your new laptop is connected to the internet during this process, as it is necessary for activation.
