I only get a notification on my laptop when someone sends me a chat message. On my other MS Teams account I get a notification on my laptop, my cell phone and on my watch.

Dear @Sloof, Brian (EB)

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Are you receiving notifications normally from other apps?

First, please help me check the following settings:

On the Teams mobile app:

  • Click on your avatar in the top left corner > Notifications > check if it is set to On.
  • Click on Notifications > Notify me on mobile for > select All activity.
  • Block notifications > ensure all toggles are turned off > specifically, ensure Block when active on desktop is turned off (because if this is on, you won't receive mobile notifications even if your laptop is on but you aren't using it).

In your Phone Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Notifications > Teams > check if Allow Notifications is enabled.
  • Also, ensure that Critical Alerts, Sounds, and Badges are activated.
  • Check Announce Notifications > set to On (please click into this to check the details for me).
  • Check if Focus Mode (such as Do Not Disturb, Work, etc.) is filtering out notifications from that specific app or account.

For Apple Watch: The Apple Watch doesn't have a standalone Teams app anymore; it mirrors what your iPhone does. Please check those settings in the Apple Watch app for me.

If you have checked all the settings above and still don't have notifications:

  • Please double-check all settings > Sign out and Sign back in > then try restarting your phone to see if it works.
  • If the issue persists, please uninstall and reinstall the app.
  • If it still doesn't work, try creating a different Microsoft account (a personal account is easiest to create, you can create in Sign in, then ask someone to send you a Teams chat to see if you receive it. If the app receives it normally, sign back into your Work account and check again.

Additionally, you can refer to this Microsoft documentation: Troubleshoot notifications in Microsoft Teams mobile apps - Microsoft Support

Please check each step and provide a full response so I can determine the appropriate next steps (this ensures you have checked all settings and haven't missed any).

Looking forward to your response!
