No audio or mic when "Enable optimizations for Microsoft Teams (preview)" is enabled in MacOS version of Microsoft Remote Desktop

I tried enabling the "Enable optimizations for Microsoft Teams (preview)" feature in the MacOS version of Microsoft Remote Desktop. When I connect to my remote desktop and open Teams and view the about information, I do see the "AVD Optimized" information in the version string. However, when I do that, my speaker and microphone no longer work. When I view devices in teams, there is only one choice for audio and mic, and it is a variant of my computer name (vs Remote Audio when I am not using this feature). If I click on the camera, it does show a picture from the camera in my laptop, but the camera in my external monitor is not available. I am connected to a dock and have MacOS set to use the audio provided by the dock and mic/camera provided by an external monitor. Without the feature enabled, I do get the right microphone and camera in Teams on my remote desktop.
Is there a way to configure what gets passed through with the enable optimizations feature on?

2021-09-28T13:54:18.023+00:00 I forgot to add that with this feature enabled, OS sounds from the remote desktop are sent to the dock audio device. It's only Teams where audio is broken.
