    Dear Eleanor

Thank you for your question. The resolution appearing stretched and the inability to use a second screen are often related to outdated or incompatible display drivers. We recommend opening Device Manager → Display adapters, right‑clicking your graphics card, and selecting Update driver to ensure the latest version is installed. You may also visit your PC manufacturer’s website (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.) to download the latest Windows 11‑compatible drivers. Once updated, please check Settings → System → Display to adjust resolution and configure multiple displays. If the issue persists, try disconnecting and reconnecting the second monitor, or test with another cable/port to rule out hardware compatibility.

If this guidance helps resolve your issue, we kindly ask that you mark this response as “Accept the answer”, so that other users facing similar problems can quickly find the solution.

    Thank you so much!!

    Kind regards,

    QQ.

If you're experiencing issues with your display resolution and the inability to use a second screen after updating to Windows 11, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:

    1. Check Display Settings: Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings". Ensure that the resolution is set to the recommended value for your monitor. You can also check if the second screen is detected in the display settings.
    2. Update Graphics Drivers: Sometimes, after an update, your graphics drivers may need to be updated. Go to the Device Manager, expand "Display adapters", right-click your graphics card, and select "Update driver".
    3. Reconfigure Multi-Display Settings: If the second screen is not recognized, try disconnecting and reconnecting it. You can also use the "Detect" button in the display settings to see if Windows can find the second monitor.
    4. Roll Back Update: If the issue persists, consider rolling back the update if it was recently installed. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history > Uninstall updates.
    5. Use the Get Help App: For more personalized assistance, you can use the Get Help app in Windows or contact Microsoft Support directly.

These steps should help you resolve the issues with your display after the Windows 11 update.
