Using Azure SQL Managed Instance, viewing through portal.azure.com, on the Settings->Properties blade the value for "Connection type (VNet-local endpoint)" shows as "Redirect (Default)", but for the same MI on the Security->Networking blade the value for "Connection type (VNet-local endpoint)" shows as "Proxy".

Why are these different?

thanks

Hi MartinHerbener-7973,

I validated this using PowerShell, and the results match what you’re seeing. The ProxyOverride property returned Redirect, which confirms the Networking blade shows the actual configuration. The Properties blade displays the default recommendation, not the live setting.

This behavior is consistent across environments and not specific to your tenant. If you’d like the Properties blade to reflect the actual configuration (similar to other properties like Tier or Hardware Generation), the best way forward is to submit feedback through the Azure Portal:

Portal → Feedback
